The Statistic
Net Wins — a player's contextual contribution to wins and losses
Traditional stats measure what a player does. Net Wins measures how much those actions are worth — normalized by what it actually costs a team to win or lose that season.
Player Wins
(PTS + REB + AST + BLK + STL) ÷ Team's positive actions per win
Player Losses
(Missed FG + Missed FT + TOV + PF) ÷ Team's negative actions per loss
Net Wins = Player Wins − Player Losses
Example: Cade Cunningham, 2025-26 — 10.36 player wins, 3.44 player losses = 6.92 net wins
